Job Responsibilities:
1. Evaluates, researches, and administers employee requests for workplace accommodations. Facilitates and participates in the interactive process to identify and assess options for providing reasonable accommodations and access to eligible team members in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, OSHA and other disability laws
2. Coordinates, reviews, and partners with internal and external resources to administer, monitor and evaluate compliance with state and federal regulations for any type of leave, however the primary focus lies with leaves that fall under ADA consideration.
3. Serves as a primary contact to respond to questions from staff and management regarding ADA compliance and accommodation requests.
4. Maintains current awareness of and proficiency with applicable laws and regulations relative to Leave of Absence Administration.
5. Partners with team members, medical providers, and field leadership to encourage and facilitate smooth return-to-work transitions for team members. Facilitates regular case review sessions with the Supervisor, LOA Care Team to identify and execute strategies for resolution.
6. Serves as a subject matter expert for workers' compensation job protection standards in alignment and partnership with the Supervisor, LOA Care Team, Occupational Medicine Team, and the W/C TPA.
7. Provides extensive case management and coordinates administrative aspects of the cases and claims
8. Maintains strict HIPAA compliance for all team member information including PHI.
9. Acts a liaison with injured workers, Occupational Medicine, departmental staff, medical providers, third party administrator, and Human Resources, when indicated
10. Consults, coordinates and partners with our third-party administrators, HR, OMS, Safety, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, team members and other departments/systems, as appropriate
11. Maintains accurate case records within our LOA Administration web-based tools, payroll systems, and company developed trackers. Includes the creation and distribution of compliant written communications and case relevant actions.
12. Prepares and presents analytics related to case status, including but not limited to, case duration, accommodation facilitation, and overall productivity and cost impacts
13. May serve as a company representative in unemployment hearings, legal depositions, etc. representative as it relates to matters involving LOA practice and employment decisions
14. Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
1. Bachelor's Degree preferred. High School Diploma Required.
2. 5 years of Human Resources experience highly preferred.
3. HR certification (i.e., CCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.
4. Must have 3 years Leave of Absence case management experience.
5. Proficiency with applicable Federal and state specific statutes, including but not limited to FMLA, NJFLA, NJFLI, LAD, FLSA, ADA, Title VII, ERISA, USERRA, HIPAA, OSHA
6. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience interpreting, managing and ensuring ADA compliance including the administration of the interactive process
