Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Monitor/Telemetry Technician at Chilton Medical Center. Required hours vary (8-hour shifts) including weekends. Starting rate $24.36/hr.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variances.
- Observes screen of cardiac monitor and listens for alarm to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm.
- Informs supervisor or General Duty Nurse of variances to initiate examination of patient.
- Measures length and height of patient's heart rhythm pattern on graphic tape readout, using calipers, and posts information on patient records.
- Answers calls for assistance from patients and inquiries concerning patients from medical staff.
- Prepares documentation regarding evaluation results, progress reports, and personalized treatment plans.
- May perform relevant duties as needed.
Requirements:
- HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required.
- Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course required.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Must be able to pass telemetry pre-test.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association preferred or will obtain through AHS within 3 months of hire date.
Relevant Experience:
- Current Monitor Tech experience and/or recent clinical experience preferred.
