Summary The Nurse Practitioner (NP) functions as an integral member of the healthcare team, working in the collaboration with physicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacist, therapists, psychologist, and others to coordinate and to enhance the quality of care provided for patients. The NP is an Advanced Practice RN (APRN) who demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to coordinate medical care for a group of patients and is an independent member of the Medical Staff.
