The Charles George VA Medical Center is seeking a Physician (Neurology) at Asheville, North Carolina. The incumbent physician is expected to provide comprehensive patient care in the form of consultative inpatient and outpatient Neurology patient care at the CGVAMC. The physician will manage patients with ongoing Neurologic conditions, inpatient and outpatient, in collaboration with other services of the CGVAMC. The incumbent is accountable to the Chief of Neurology department assuring the most effective delivery of care in services within Medical Service. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. The duties include but are not limited to the following: Interviews, examines, selects diagnostic testing appropriately, and interprets/collates results to coordinate patient care. Communicates and documents with clarity to patients and medical personnel to coordinate patient care. Procedural skills may include trigger point injections, electrophysiology testing, and interpretation of electrophysiology studies. Shares after hour call responsibilities with section physicians in rotation. Consultative input to outpatient and inpatient care. Collaborate with midlevel providers and physician colleagues with clear communication and documentation. Participate in the educational programs for the section personnel as well as medical staff. Attend Neurology team meetings Demonstrate ethical conduct and serve as a positive role model to others at all levels of the organization Participate in quality assurance programs and chart reviews Attend Medicine Service monthly staff meetings and COS quarterly meetings as per bylaws Complete medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff Participate in Medical Staff committee assignments Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
