Nursing Informatics (NI) is the specialty that integrates nursing science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge and wisdom in nursing practice. Nursing informatics facilitates the integration of data, information, knowledge and wisdom to support patients, nurses, and other providers in their decision making in all roles and settings. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Nurse II: Prioritizes data collection activities based on the immediate or anticipated needs of the situation. Synthesizes available data, information, and knowledge relevant to the situation to identify patterns and variances. Derives the problems, needs, or issues based on assessment data.
